Christmas activities in Sitges 2022

Those who are looking for the most traditional Christmas, from December 23, 2022 to January 8, 2023, have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of nativity dioramas organized by the Grup Pessebrista de Sitges. An exhibition located in the Palau del Rei Moro, a Gothic building that is part of the architectural heritage of Catalonia. In this exhibition you can see figures sculpted by various artists who follow, mostly, the style of the school of Barcelona. In addition, as a result of this activity also takes place a tour of cribs, where you can admire different scenes prepared with this type of figures.

Another classic event at this time of year is the representation of Els Pastorets de Sitges, a theatrical and musical performance typical of Christmas in Catalonia, in which the birth of Jesus is relived from the point of view of the shepherds. A performance that, at the same time, evokes the struggle between good and evil. Those interested can come to the Casino Prado Suburense to enjoy some of the performances: The first one, on December 27 at 6 PM, and the second one, on December 28 at 10 PM.

Also, for those who like sports, on December 31 at 5 PM the Sant Silvestre Sitgetana race will be held, an 8 km run along the beaches and streets of Sitges, which starts and ends at the Plaza del Baluard. Are you ready to give it your all?

On the other hand, if you want to enjoy a typical Nordic Christmas market without leaving the city, the Sitges Winter Market is for you. It will take place on December 17 and 18 in Plaza de La Fragata, and access is free. Without a doubt, a plan that both young and old will enjoy.

Christmas in Sitges with children

If you come to spend Christmas in Sitges with your family, there are also several activities designed for the little ones in the house.

One of them is the Sitges Christmas Park, which has many sports and leisure activities for children: games, workshops, trampolines, inflatables and crafts, among others. The Associació Esportiva d'Amics del Bàsquet, together with the City Council's sports service, will be preparing the facilities at the Pins Vens Pavilion to welcome more than 2,000 children as in previous editions. It will be held from December 27, 2022 to January 5, 2023 and has a cost of 4€ for 3 hours and 6€ for the whole day.

Also, on Saturday, December 17 at 11 AM a children's gymkhana will be organized in the Terramar Park, and that same day at 5 pm in the Town Hall Square, children can enjoy one of the most popular Catalan traditions: the Caga Tió.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the visit of the Three Wise Men to Sitges:

On January 3 is when the royal messengers arrive in the city. They will be at the Mercat Vell from 4 PM to 8 PM to collect the letters that children write to Their Majesties of the Orient to ask for their gifts. Finally, on January 5, it's the turn of the Three Wise Men's parade in Sitges, in which Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar will walk through the streets with their helpers to greet all those who come out to see them. The departure is from La Fragata at 5 PM, continuing along Passeig de la Ribera and continuing until reaching the Town Hall Square.
