Visit the Maricel Museum

We have already discussed this topic in more depth in our post the Modernism in Sitges. The Maricel Museum is a jewel of Catalan modernism and the pride of Sitges. It is a building that combines different elements of artistic movements of Spanish history, not only modernism. So its architecture leaves no one who visits Maricel indifferent. It was built in 1910 on the site of the old medieval hospital of San Juan and combined the New-Centric and Modernist styles.

Maricel is composed of two large blocks: the Maricel de Mar, now the Maricel Museum, and the Maricel de Terra, the palace. The main spaces are the Saló d'Or, the Saló Blau, the Sala Capella, the Sala Vaixells, the terraces and the impressive cloister, where we can contemplate a splendid view of the Mediterranean. In addition, it is a very Instagrammable place, where you can take pictures to always remember this special trip.

Time to eat

Nice places for a romantic getaway must have restaurants with a good gastronomic offer, right? In one of our previous posts, we recommended the restaurants in Sitges you can't miss, and the one we suggest the most for a romantic, spectacular dinner is PIC NIC. Mediterranean cuisine overlooking the sea, what more could you ask for? Undoubtedly, it is one of the best places to delight your palate with its paellas, rice, fish, and meat of the highest quality.

The Garraf curves, one of the roads that connect Sitges with the coastal towns near Barcelona, are known for their breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. It is a mountain road with 86 curves, among which you will find irresistible beaches. If you like driving, you can't miss one of the most exciting roads of the Catalan coast.
